Executive Assistant

Mrs Ellen Machao is an accomplished finance and administration professional with over 12 years of progressive experience supporting public sector, regional, and international development organizations across Botswana and Southern Africa. She currently serves as the Executive Assistant at Centre for Coordination of Agricultural Research and Development for Southern Africa (CCARDESA), where she provides high-level strategic and operational support to executive leadership while strengthening institutional systems and administrative efficiency. 

Throughout her career, she has held key finance and administrative roles at respected institutions including the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretariat, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Princess Marina Hospital, and the Ministry of Health Botswana. Her experience spans financial administration, budgeting, compliance, executive support, and office administration within complex, multicultural environments. Mrs Machao is highly regarded for her strong organizational skills, attention to detail, discretion, and ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and efficiency. She has consistently contributed to enhancing governance standards, streamlining operational processes, and supporting the effective delivery of institutional and regional development programs. 

Mrs Machao holds a Bachelor of Business (Hons) in International Business and Finance from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, a Diploma in Human Resource Management, a Certificate in Accounting from the University of Cape Town, and a Certificate in Business Finance from the European Business University of Luxembourg. She is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance with INICAF International University.
