Dear colleagues

Please find below the links to some of our recent publications:

* Early Warning Systems for Improving Food Security in East and
Southern Africa : Early warning systems enable more proactive, less
reactive responses which are well tailored for local conditions. The
practical information generated by reliable hydromet monitoring and
effective forecasting, which underpins early warning systems, is a
public good with which governments and their partners can protect the
productivity of agricultural livelihoods and food security among both
producers and consumers. Moreover, other climate-sensitive sectors of
the economy beyond the agricultural sector would also benefit from
hydromet and early warning systems (EWSs)

* Scaling up Climate-Smart Agriculture through the Africa Climate
Business Plan: Scaling up climate-smart agriculture in Africa is vital
to ending hunger and boosting shared prosperity on the continent. The
Africa Climate Business Plan (ACBP) launched at the twenty-first
Conference of Parties (COP21) in Paris is an important step toward
addressing the interlinked challenges of food security and climate
change. The ACBP calls for focused public and private sector investments
to help African people and countries adapt to climate change and build
up the continent's resilience to climate shocks. The Plan includes a
focus on climate-smart agriculture and supports the vision for
accelerated agricultural transformation in support of the Malabo
Declaration.
