Assignment Title: Review of the CCARDESA Human Resources and Procedure Manual – Gaborone Botswana.
The Centre for Coordination of Agricultural Research and Development for Southern Africa (CCARDESA) has received financing from various donors towards its mandate of Coordinating Agricultural Research and Development in Southern Africa and intends to apply a portion of these proceeds towards eligible payments under this contract. Payment by CCARDESA will be made only against approved deliverables, and will be subject, in all respects, to the terms and conditions of the CCARDESA financial Management Systems.
CCARDESA is a subsidiary organization of SADC and has the mandate of coordinating all matters of agricultural research and development in the SADC region. It facilitates implementation of various projects funded by different donors. CCARDESA offers vast discussion platforms and networks to key agricultural and nutrition stakeholders across the region, including national, civil society and private agricultural research and extension services, academia and policymakers.
The overall objectives of the assignment are to :
- Review the current CCARDESA Human resources policy and procedures manual to fulfil organisational needs and adapt to contemporary Human resource management practices.
- Ensure that the Human resources policy and procedures manual is effective enough to promote the current desired organisational strategic objectives.
- Ensure that the Human resources policy and procedures manual is consistent and fair to all employees to attract and retain diverse talent.
- Ensure that the Human resources policy and procedures manual is in tandem with global diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
The Centre for Coordination of Agricultural Research and Development for Southern Africa now invites eligible individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested consultants should provide information (Comprehensive CVs that show description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions) demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services.
The shortlisting criteria are:
The Consultant shall have the following key academic and professional competencies:
- At least a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Organisational Development or Business Management with At least 5 years of working/consulting experience in areas of Human resources management, Industrial relations and Labour Law.
OR
- At least a Bachelor degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Industrial Psychology or Business Management with At least 10 years of working/consulting experience in areas of Human resources management, Industrial relations and Labour Law.
- A minimum of three (3) similar assignments in the last 5 years.
- Understanding and experience of working internationally, across different countries and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in review and development of strategic Human resources policies.
- The Consultant must be fluent in written and spoken English.
The Consultant will be selected in accordance with the individual Consultancy method set out in the CCARDESA Procurement Manual.
